The solar decathlon is a biennial competition opens to the universities and instutiutions for an opportunity to challenge “Design and build in a solar house that is energy independent. The aim of the contest is to design ans build a home entirely powered by solar energy. The U.S. Department of Energy selected 16 collegiate teams from the universities from around the world to participate in the competition.

In Solar Decathlon Europe 2019, King Mongkut’s university of technology Thonburi (KMUTT) from Thailand is an only team from Asia that was chosen to participate in this competition.
